Notes on Dealing with AI
Leipzig University is currently developing generally applicable guidelines on the use of AI tools in assignments and other examination formats. Until the final regulation is in place, the Institute of the Study of Religions follows the recommendations of the Faculty of GKR: Teachers may explicitly prohibit the use of AI tools in general or in relation to specific tools. Otherwise, the following rules apply:
- In the appendix of your paper, list all AI-based tools that you have used for research and editorial purposes. These must be listed with product names and formulated entries (prompts) in an AI directory.
- The appendix must be preceded by a declaration on the use of the tools, stating that you have fully designed the structure and content of the work yourself. You can find a sample for this appendix in the template for term papers on this website; students of the Study of Relgions can download it here via Moodle.
- As usual, the appendix does not count towards the required number of characters for the written examination.
