By public transport
The museum is only a few minutes' walk from Leipzig Central Station and the Leipzig long-distance bus terminal. The S-Bahn station Markt (S1 - S5) and the tram stops at Augustusplatz (tram 4, 7, 8, 10, 11, 12, 14, 15, 16, bus 89) are also within walking distance.
By car
The museum is located in a pedestrian zone. The nearest parking facilities are the city centre car parks at Augustusplatz (approx. 5 min. walk), Marktgalerie (approx. 5 min. walk) and Brühl (approx. 10 min. walk).
Access to the exhibition rooms and the sanitary facilities is barrier-free thanks to a lift and is guaranteed for visitors with walking disabilities.
Parts of the permanent exhibition have been made accessible to visually impaired visitors. Further information can be found here (Website in progress, Link will follow).
